Lucy's Podcast, Low Expectations and Guilt vs. Shame
Welcome to another week of the Chapter 3 Newsletter, I hope you all are enjoying the summertime season!
As we passed 6 months since losing Lucy last week, Alyssa and I checked in and realized that our grief is evolving and we are progressing. Regardless of what you are going through in life, taking a moment to pause and reflect on where you are is a highly recommended practice.

Somewhere, back in my life, someone planted a seed in my mind that I was an alcoholic. It is important to be able to address the question head on, but better than just say it or tell someone that you believe that they might be an alcoholic, let this podcast detail what alcoholism looks like in other people’s stories and then see how that maps to their own life and struggle.
I can say that this is one of the more impactful recordings that we have ever made. I am so in awe of Alyssa’s strength through all of this, and my pride for Lucy and her time here on earth cannot be stated enough.

Another throwback to a topic I wrote about early in the newsletter - Guilt vs. Shame. This post additionally highlights the importance of community in establishing yourself on the journey of recovery. Remember, guilt is healthy, shame is destructive.
That’s it! All the best,
